I've lost both of my parents, my sister and my mother-in-law, along with many friends and acquaintances to various types of cancer. I wanted to be part of a group to help find better treatments and earlier detection of cancer.
To do my small part to advance research for cancer, I chose to ally myself with a group that is highly effective at raising money and awareness, has minimum overhead costs and supports an innovative, dedicated local research facility.
The team at the Translational Ovarian Cancer Research Program at London Health Sciences Centre is doing cutting-edge work. The progress it makes with one form of cancer I hope might open the door to potentially new treatments for others.
For me, the London Run for Ovarian Cancer offers the best bang for the buck to get results.
